About

Update on 3-10-09:

We’ve made significant progress in a short period of time. While we are not yet an official group (perhaps for now an informal group is good enough?), we can certainly say with confidence that Clatsop County nonprofit organizations are working together very well with a goal of getting a solid proposal together for the Meyer Memorial Trust RFP, and good things will come from us all meeting, talking and working together to get through these difficult times. Thanks to all of you who are attending meetings, discussing this project with your organizations, and helping us to get the proposal together.

I’m not sure that you could call this a group yet, but the idea is to gather representatiives of Clatsop County area nonprofit organizations together to discuss the possibilities and mechanics of how to best help each other.

Many of our individual groups already do this in many ways: we share space, equipment, information – how can we do this, and do it more and do it better?

Please come to the Feb. 17th meeting and talk about what works, what you’d like to see, where you’d like to see it, or what ever else is on your mind on this subject.

If you cannot make this meeting but you want to participate, tell us another day/time that would work for you and maybe we can do more than one meeting, or maybe you can host a meeting and then send a representative to share info gathered from your meeting.

Also: while the Meyer Memorial Trust proposal needs to be focused on nonprofit organizations, we realize there are many groups doing great and important work out there that are not officially registered  nonprofit organizations. We want to include everyone who is interested in the discussion, so please come.
